About the Author
Ken Hensley has served as a senior pastor and church planter in San Diego, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Denver. During the past twenty-five years he has also worked in the for-profit sector, first during the "dot com" days of the late 1990's and again while planting a new church in San Diego in 2007. He holds an undergraduate degree in American Studies and continued his graduate studies at Bethel Seminary. Currently he serves as the Senior Pastor at Mountainview Christian Church near Denver. In addition, he also serves on the Board of Directors for Church Planters of the Rockies. He and his wife, Tonya, have two daughters and reside in Highlands Ranch, CO.

Compilation of Blog Posts

Leading with Heart is compiled from a series of blog posts, generally beginning with a brief quote either from the Bible or from a well-known person, followed by a brief (or not-so-brief) discussion inspired by the quote. This gives the impression of it being more like a daily devotional than a serious book on leadership. Chapters are snippets of information rather than an in-depth discussion of a subject, and there is no overarching theme or argument as I usually expect in non-fiction.

I have read other books that are a compilation of blog posts and they also had this choppy feel, one chapter (day) being brief and the next more in-depth, one day being very conversational, the next being more a mini-sermon, and with no real links between topics. Some of the posts were related to what was in the news that day, so are very time-sensitive. A date would have helped place the events in context (particularly for us non-Americans).

It's an eclectic style that is very easy to read, but can take a bit of getting used to. There is also an issue with proportion--in books, authors tend to spend a lot of time on things that are important and gloss over things that they perceive as less important. On the other hand, brief blog posts may be something important that the writer wants us to ponder for the day. But in a book, we tend to read on without introspection, which is a mistake with a book like this.

Hensley is a good writer, with a welcoming and conversational style, and provides many nuggets on Christian leadership, both within the church and in daily life (and this is something that is often missing--a recognition that most of us don't work in the church). Worth reading, but not in one sitting.

Rational, Real and Personable - Journey of Building Health & Muscle

This is the kind of book everyone should read, both for how Paul shares his journey, as well as sharing his experiences in training. What I really like about his book is how down to earth and Real he is. This speaks volumes, along with the recommendations of other leading trainers in the opening of the book. Best part, is you can glean Paul's knowledge, apply it to your training and save yourself from bro-science and the stupid injuries that result from it.

This is a MUST read for anyone seeking to train for health, muscle, in a rational proven way.

Great job Paul. This is an Inspiring book hope people will read from beginning to end...then apply it.

I just had the pleasure of reading Paul’s E-Book “Rational Resistance Training.” I found it to be an enjoyable read, full of honest information on training, Paul’s training history, why he does what he does, and how. Best description I can think of is this, “It’s a Training Primer.” You can spend much more money on books that don’t have near the explanation nor the information contained in his E-Book. No fluff, just good common sense training. Hence the name “Rational Resistance Training.” Well done Paul.

About the Author
Andrew Latham is Head Coach for the Lower Island Soccer Association (LISA) in British Columbia, Canada. Bringing more than 20 years experience as a youth development coach in North America and the United Kingdom, he spent three and a half years with Sheffield United as a youth coach, where he played a key role in introducing Futsal to the Academy Players. Great Book

This book is well written and easy to follow. I have just gotten my 7 year old into soccer as she was showing interest and she loved reading this book with me as it gives some great education on the soccer world. Towards the end of this book it even touches on nutritional tips as to what to eat to help stay a healthy athlete. Would recommend to family and friends. This book was free of charge for an honest review. I honestly loved it thanks.

What a great manual for soccer players. I found the pictures quite helpful and the player focus to be very interesting. A great book for parents who want to "coach" their children and even an easy read for the budding soccer player who aims to be the very best. An all-around must have book!

Dom X by M.S. Parker

This box set by M.S. Parker will entice you into finishing it as quickly as you can. This is Xavier ( goes by X) and Nouri's story and it is written with finesse. If your are a fan of BDSM stories this one has a twist that will surprise you. The Dom in these books are usually male and the sub is female. Due to the extent of X 's burns Nouri is teaching him how to be a Dom to give him back an element of control in his life.

X who is in the military was badly burned in a warehouse fire in a civilian accident which ended his career. On the day of the fire he lost everything that mattered to him. Nouri was his nurse from his admittance to the hospital through his discharge. Both of them were becoming quite attached to each other during this time but would not acknowledge it to themselves or each other. They both have secrets and past hurts that keep them apart.

When X is discharged he returns to his home in Philadelphia and when the priest who is his only family contacts Nouri to come to take care of him that's when sparks begin to fly. Into all of this add Nouri's ex-boyfriend and their mutual attraction that neither one is willing to bring out into the open. This story is extremely well-written and entertaining. The way M.S. Parker weaves all aspects of the story to the conclusion will keep you on your toes. Since I do not believe in giving any spoilers away I will let you know that this book is worth your effort.

Very very touching and beautiful book

Glad i wanted to read these as a boxed set! M. S. Parker this set rocks. Please note folks if you are thinking that this set is about Dom/Sub relationship than this might not be the one for you. This book is about a brave solider who while home on leave, saves the life of a boy and a man in a burning building. Because of this he was hurt badly. He was taken home to Philly by the priest who had basically raised him later in life.

One of the nurses at the hospital in Texas would sit by his bed and talk to him. It seemed that they had a connection even when Xavier or X was not able to speak. Nori later would come to Philly to care for X in many ways.

The Dom part of this book might throw you off a bit but for me it is really cool and loving and in a way it is how I think many folks find their inter-self or kink.
I highly recommend this book.

MS Parker this has to be the most emotionally charged book that you have written, the ups and downs had my heart all over the place.

I have to admit that after reading book one I was a little confused about how Xavier, aka X, fit into the title of the book, but once I started reading the next books in the series, it all started to make sense and this book did not disappoint.

Nori and X have moved to the top of my most loved couples from MS Parker, they both have emotional baggage that is holding them back from giving into each other and for X its also that he thinks he does not deserve to have something as amazing as someone like Nori. Running hot and cold with each other seems to be the norm for X and Nori, and then even colder when Nori's ex shows up and confesses that he wants her back. The ups and downs between Nori and X will pull at your heartstrings and have you crossing your fingers hoping that Nori and X will realize how perfect they are for each other.

Will things work out between Nori and X, or is it too late for them?

Captivating ...

Nori Prinz has one of the toughest nursing jobs..she works the burn unit. Outside of work her life is chaos having to often check upon her father for her mother. Then there's her boyfriend Tanner and the world of BDSM they are into. Where Nori often finds it an outlet in her life. Yet, she feels like something is missing.
Then one day everything starts to take a turn. A young solider is brought into the er badly burned. And that same day Nori decides to drive into work early instead of taking the bus. It was like there was a force that day. Bringing her and X there at the same time. When he finally comes to from the coma he hears that voice. The same voice that he heard that day. Where will things lead for them? Always, a fantastic read by an incredibly fantastic author.

WOW! I was totally not expecting the twist in this first book of the series. Nori and X are from totally different parts of the ‘universe’ and it makes you wonder right away how they would ever meet. Until you figure it out, and your heart is shattered.

I love the way M.S Parker writes stories that suck you right in and keep you begging for more. Knowing that this is a five book series, when you get to the last page, you know that you are going to be left with your jaw on the floor. EXACTLY what happens with this one! Cannot wait to get to the next one, good thing all five books are out and I don’t have to wait!!! 5 SOLID stars!!

cliffhanger--just buy the 5 Vol. boxed set-good story

First let me say that it does end in a CLIFFHANGER. As a rule I hate these kinds of deals. As I started reading I liked the characters and cared about them. The hero is a very troubled soul. A terrible childhood, not his fault, but he carries the scars from that part of his life. it doesn't seem as though much goes in his favor. he does find family with the Army and that becomes his life. He has no problems attracting the opposite sex but even that has very little meaning for him. He does seem to have a sad existence and you just want to hug him and tell him that someone does care.

Nori is the heroine in this story. She is a RN in the burn unit at the local hospital. She and her boyfriend are into the erotica side of this story. it is not as "weird" as some but the way she describes their interactions, etc. gives some insight into another world. Not weird, just different. They seem to have a good relationship but something is just missing on her part.

One night, while on leave, X runs into a burning building to save a child. He is badly burned and winds up in Nori's ward in the hospital. My brother was badly burned about 10 years ago. I was with him for 2 weeks in the hospital and for 2 months afterwards. Her description of what X is going through is spot on. It is one of the worst things that a human being has to go through. No one can imagine it without experiencing it first or second hand. My brother is fine today and he is one of the lucky ones. But, I could feel his pain and knew what he had to look forward to with each new day. The wish to die is foremost in the burn victim's mind. the pain is that bad. But, Nori is determined to save him.

The boxed set of 5 volumes was on sale on Amazon for .99. I bought it soon after starting Vol. 1 because I knew I wanted to stay with these characters until the end. I really don't like it when authors write a "book" and it has no end. And I NEVER buy the next book but I made the exception with this one. I think it will be that good. But, since there are 5 volumes, be prepared to buy the rest if you want to finish the story. It is a good story, well written in that it holds your attention from beginning on and the characters are all likable people, so far...

I just finished reading volume 5 and this is a very good story. I loved it. It is more about the love story between these two than anything else. I still don't like the idea of writing 5 short books when one really good one would have been better. I can see that this author does this a lot. I don't get it but I guess it works for her. This set was worth it but I don't think I will download any others. I just do not like this practice and by buying the books it encourages the author to continue. This author is good enough to stand alone with one book that has a beginning and an end. But, that is just my opinion. I did like the story and wanted to be sure that thought came across but I do feel it is only fair to let other readers know that they must buy the set to get the whole story. As a rule, the word "cliffhanger" is enough to make me pass!!
