20 Beautiful Coloring Designs with Focus on Scripture – printed on one side of page

[[VIDEOID:2d1828d50953817ce493341712f5b9b4]]This is the second coloring book by Margaret Feinberg that I have purchased. The first book focused on what God has in store for each of us. This coloring book focuses on what we have been given and how we are to live as believers. It is a beautiful way to sit and meditate on verses that lift me up and remind me of the spiritual abundance that I have. Left to my own thoughts, I can become more pessimistic and discouraged, even while coloring. Coloring generally releases me from the thoughts that cloud my brain. Coloring in a Christian-based coloring book actually fills my thoughts with things that are good and true. This one in particular reminds me of what God has in mind for my life.

The verses in this book are taken from a wide variety of translations. The author additionally gives a good guideline on how you can use the book as part of a devotional exercise.

As with her previous book, the focus of each design is the scripture. The designs in this coloring book are more integrated with the words than the previous one and, while I liked the first book, I like this one even more. The words are once again in cursive, which looks both beautiful and elegant. I have found that a well sharpened coloring pencil is my best way of filling in the words. I prefer a soft lead pencil for this – it doesn't fill in all the nooks and crannies but it gives a beautiful color and emphasis to the words.

The designs in this book are printed on one side of very nice heavyweight white paper. The page facing each design (which is the back side of the preceding page) is a page for a journal. It has a similar thought and feel the quote on the design page and has the verse and the cite listed. You can jot down your thoughts or even simply write down the coloring mediums you used in finishing your design. The pages are not perforated and I don't believe I will remove pages from the book because of the way the journal pages are set up. I would lose continuity of thoughts, verse, and design by removing pages. The binding is glued rather than sewn. Only one of the designs merge into the binding area though a second one is very close. You can remove pages if you choose to do so by cutting them out but in addition to losing the flow of the book, you may also lose portions at the side of those two designs.

As with the previous book, I think the paper used in this coloring is a good grade. My alcohol-based markers all bled through the paper. My water-based markers did a much better job. My Staedler triplus fineliners and the brush end of my Tombows did not bleed through at all. All other water-based markers (including the fine point end of the Tombows) left a shadow at the back of the page. My India ink artist pens did not bleed through. My gel pens did not bleed through but they did require extra drying time so that they wouldn't smear on the paper. Extra drying time for gel pens has signified a better grade of paper for me – apparently the ink sits on the page rather than being absorbed into and through. My coloring pencils worked well for their type of lead (soft or hard.) Blending worked well with soft and the hard leads did not leave indents on the back of the page. If I decide to use markers, I will use a blotter page of heavier weight paper or card stock to keep ink from seeping into the next design. It will play havoc with the journal page but that is okay with me. In the comments area below I will list the coloring mediums I used to test this coloring book.

I can't express how thankful I am that Christian publishers are now providing great quality Christian coloring books. I actively look for more these days and am always so happy to find new ones. I like to share these books with friends as a way of reaching out to them. This particular book is set up with a believer in mind and it makes it a great book to own and to give to a friend who is going through a difficult time in life.

A unique and beautiful coloring journal

I have been watching the adult coloring book phase closely ever since I saw samples of works on Facebook. It looked like so much fun that when the opportunity to review "Live Free" came along, I decided to try it out.

Okay. I don't think this hobby is for me. It caused me more stress having to make decisions about what colors to use, staying in the lines, etc. However, just because coloring is not my cup of tea, I can understand why someone would enjoy making beautiful creations out of the detailed drawings prepared by Margaret Feinberg. I loved the Scripture verses and the idea of a coloring book journal. The journaling page was uniue and allows you to meditate on Scripture while you color to your heart's content.

Some of the pictures are more detailed than others. Some are easy, while some are more complex. If you enjoy coloring, this book will keep you entertained for hours.

Beautiful, high quality, inspirational book.

Beautiful coloring book. I love coloring, so I've tried a lot of adult coloring books lately. I've found s lot of inconsistency in quality of the paper, the inks, and designs. I found this book to be high quality and beautiful. It is fun to color. The designs are neither too simple, nor too complicated to color. The chosen verses are also beautiful and inspirational and I've really enjoyed this book.

Detroit Muscle

I grew up during the era of the Detroit muscle car. In the evenings I could hear them racing down Woodward Avenue, now home to the annual "Dream Cruise." Anyone who has a passion for cars will enjoy this story. It is an "historical" account of a series of events most likely impossible to replicate today. Passion and skill driving success against the odds. The story is also interspersed with concurrent historical references from the world of politics and pop culture that will take you back to the glory days of the big V-8 engines. And for all the "gear heads" out there, how Adams and his team pulled this off is explained in a way you will truly enjoy.

Terrible Writing

This book reads like an assignment from a freshman creative writing course. The author, unfortunately, seems to have missed the lecture on historical fiction and thinks that you can’t include any facts in a work of historical fiction. The author notes that the book is, "... a work of historical fictional." Reading many parts of the book turns into a guessing game, i.e. “Who is he talking about in this section?”

The book begins with the death of Jerry Titus. His name is never mentioned and he is repeatedly referred to as ‘the Pontiac driver’. During the sections on races the other cars are described as ‘an orange Mustang’ or ‘a red, white, and blue Javelin’. Drivers’ names are never mentioned. This absence of information makes the chapters on specific races much less vivid. The lack of technical detail is also annoying. A more skilled author could have made this a great story.

The Race and How It's Won!

This is a book for frustrated engineers, for NASCAR enthusiasts who want to know what goes into winning a race, for someone who wants to win any kind of a race! It’s for anyone who has put heart and soul into working towards a goal and needs inspiration to stick with it, to see it to the end! I learned about “muscle cars” – what they are and why they are revered!
I got completely caught up in the race, in the possibility of winning. I developed an appreciation for the many facets that go into building a winning racecar, and the satisfaction the builders got from not winning, but just getting through the race. The author showed me the importance of each person on the team, from the guy with the original idea, to each of the gifted engineers who used their unique skills to perfect each facet of the engine’s parts, to the driver who skillfully knew how to play the field of drivers and bring his car to the finish line!

Wonderful story! I really enjoyed reading this even though it may have been a little short it does make it up in sheer quirkiness and charm. It was interesting that I kept forgetting this book is about Minecraft. Every now and then something specific to Minecraft would show up and I would have to remember that the images in my head need to be more pixel-like! Every chapter gives you an excitement and it keeps on building towards the end.

Great read!

This is an inspirational book! It is much more than the advertised tales of adventure, survival and self-sufficiency. Yes, those tales are very informative and sometimes exciting and even humorous. However, this is a deeper work than the title suggests. It is a story of a successful modern pioneering couple.
Anyone contemplating hiking the AT, bicycling across the country, homesteading, or logging, would be wise to read this book.
Yes, mostly alone and unaided, Ron built his first homestead in Northern Maine; but then Johanna comes into his life and it really takes off. With her support he becomes Northern Maine's premier tree farmer. After injury ends her own thru-hike, she logistically enables him to complete the AT, and, later, a cross country bike trip. How this couple works as hard as a pair of draft horses to accomplish shared goals and dreams underscores the strength of their relationship. Their meeting the various challenges of wilderness living with intelligence, hard work and tenacity qualify this as a self-help book extraordinaire!

A practical and entertaining read as you follow Ron and ...

A practical and entertaining read as you follow Ron and his wife into the bush. Unlike TV's Alaskan Bush People or Lake Wobegon, the story is not scripted or fake. Written in a serial timeline as his experiences unfold, the higher point chapters don't come into play until about three quarters of the way in, the "fire chapters" being the most memorable. While such extreme isolationism is not a realistic option for most, the narrative phrasing really does put you in a proximal third person perspective which, for the most part, translate to a near first person narrative from the reader's viewpoint. The one aspect that I wish it had more of as it went along would have been the cost of materials and other elements, such as renting a Single Otter plane for supplies and transport. Overall attention to detail is what brings this easy-reading narrative alive.

This book is a must have if you're thinking of prepping or homesteading. Well written with a country flair for anecdotes, Ron's musings and real life experiences gives you the up and downs of homesteading. Contrary to popular belief, there are costs involved with homesteading and Ron shares how planning your homestead could help defer costs and put some money in your pocket as well. Common sense planning like selective timbering to make some money and gardening to save money all strengthens the bottom line so you can pursue those solar panels, wind turbines, inverters, and batteries to provide you comfortable amenities. it's a lost art and even if you are not a homesteader you'll enjoy the adventures of Ron as he hikes the Applacian Trail and explores America on a bicycle. It's an easy to read book for the whole family.
