About the Author
John Gerring has been a PGA professional for over fifty years. He was the thirteenth professional in America to earn the title of PGA Master Professional, was ranked a “Top 100 teacher” by Golf magazine, was chosen as National PGA Professional of the Year in 1981, and was inducted into the National PGA Hall of Fame in 2005. John lives in Greenville, South Carolina.

Like your swing, you should own this book

John eliminates "paralysis through analysis", or "macaroni" to use his term, to make it as simple as possible for a player to actually improve his or her game. John's approach, as reflected in the book, is to put you in the best possible position to make a good, effective, repeating swing while minimizing all of the the muddled thinking as you stand over the ball. Very few of us have the flexibility and athleticism or the time to develop either to adopt the theories of the "modern swing". Instead he uses time-tested simple thoughts and movements that have worked for some of the best players of all time. The anecdotes and slices of personal philosophy provide added interest to an instructional book and reflect John's - and the reader's - shared love of the game.

Great golf instruuction book!

I know John and what he teaches every day on the course is in this book. He is the real deal! He worked with my daughter and his teaching style even For a 14 year old girl is right on. This is a must read for every golfer who is looking to get better with out all the macaroni as John would say!
