things like making sure he does his work on time

I met Dr Doyle at a conference recently and so bought this book for my boyfriend who has Aspergers. He really struggles with what I would call ''basic life skills'', things like making sure he does his work on time, planning how he prepares for exams and taking care of himself, most importantly of all he finds it really difficult to properly connect with people (obviously because he has Aspergers) and he is finding the communication parts really, really useful for helping him find better ways of relating to people. Personally I am helping him work through the book and I really like the layout, it explain everything very clearly indeed, and I like the use of graphics. The whole thing feels very 'accessible' and clear, it makes working through it actually almost fun because you feel like you are ''advancing'', and because the font and spacings are nice it doesn't feel like a chore at all. Obviously Chris will always have aspergers but I definitely see some changes already with how he is learning to ''structure'' his time and how he feels about things. I think he seems much more confident already in a short time.

A long-awaited and much appreciated contribution

This workbook is a lucid, well-structured and learned combination of the theory behind transition planning as well as practical advice for parents, professionals and young people themselves. I had not previously been able to find an intelligent hands-on manual that tackles all of the pertinent issues, and I find this a welcome and well-timed contribution in an area which has often been sadly ignored. Thank you Doctor Doyle!
