Spoilers, I can't do this review without them.

Cheating is involved in this book, which normally doesn't bother me because I love the drama and angst.
But sadly, in this stand-alone, it did. Maybe it's because I couldn't get past how selfish and immature Sadie, our main character is??
Maybe it's because the blurb was so misleading??
Nate, the husband, it's led the reader to believe he doesn't want her, and has become cold and cruel.
I mean if you're married and throw everything away for having 2 bad months in seven years, how do you justify that?? Easily, Sadie is SELFISH.
***Spoilers***
Stop reading if you don't want to know more.
Nate, IMOHO should of actually been cruel, not just distant towards Sadie, who he does love very much. But when it comes out that she aborted his baby 7 years ago, and never told him, I'd be PO too!!
So in the process of Nate, who's trying to get his head on straight, and not confront Sadie while he's hot headed and extremely hurt, because now Sadie is having problems getting pregnant.
Sadie decides that as whole two months is enough and wants to throw it all away for her neighbor Finn. Yes, you know she's perfect and since things around her aren't perfect, she's going to make herself feel better in Finn's strong arms and bed. Not to mention, that would at times be the marital bed.
I was so sick of hearing how perfect things were for her to turn and cheat after two months!! Then I'm not sure if it's due to the fact that Nate's father was dying, nothing much was discussed of the affair. It was like it took a back burner. As long as Sadie still wants a baby to Nate, she can go have as many affairs as she wants. It was made as no big issue. I mean this coming from a cold, unfeeling, distant husband, that the blurb leads us to believe.
But Nate is overly caring, overly affectionate, he shows his love daily. Now mind you that's approximately 2,555 days that he shoved his love, and for 60 he didn't.
I think it being a story of hypocrisy for Sadie, burns me up even more. Finn, the neighbor, who's married with a child can be her knight in shining armor. He's good enough to have an affair with and possibly a life time relationship, and perfect to Sadie. But if HER husband were doing that to her, she'd want to cut off both heads.
It's not even as if she's a 20 year old to forgive her train of thought. She's a woman.
To me it just was like stuff was just thrown together to make a book.
Love triangle. Check
Cheating wife. Check
Hot alpha male. Check
Man with issues. Check
Hidden secret, in the perfect relationship. Check.
Wrapped in a nice bow. Check.
Everyone is different, apparently I'm the out cast here with my opinion.
If you read, I hope you enjoy this book.

Burning ring of fire
By Vox Libris
Holy anxiety trip, faithful readers. Prepare yourselves, because Jessica Hawkins is going to taunt and tease and torture you with this book.
Sadie and Nathan have been together for seven years, and theirs is the perfect marriage. Sadie knows this, and she's proud of it. After being held captive to her parents' wretched marriage, she will settle for nothing less than perfection. Nathan dotes on her, he adores her, and he puts her first. Her friends, family, and co-workers envy her marriage, and they regularly tell her how lucky she is. Sadie knows that, too. Yet perhaps she has forgotten just how lucky she is.
Until she is forced to realize it.
In what feels like overnight, Nathan has withdrawn. Gone are the loving gestures. Gone is the affection. Gone is Sadie's status as the center of his life. Their heretofore agreed on time apart - Nathan has weekly bowling nights while Sadie stays home and reads - begin to feel more dangerous, sinister even. What is Nathan getting during his time away from her that takes his attention - maybe even his love - away from her?
Sadie came into this marriage a woman uncertain that love could last forever. She even told Nathan that should he want to leave her, he just needs to say so. Now that he appears to be headed in that direction, though, Sadie finds herself untethered. Her pessimism regarding marriage seems to bear fruit. She acknowledges that she does not know how to be a wife, so when she convinces herself that her husband no longer wishes to occupy that role, she resorts to what she knows. She begins to repeat the patterns of her parents' marriage.
Into this toxic situation comes Finn, a gorgeous neighbor who moves in across the hall. His attraction for Sadie is immediate and clear. But Sadie is married. As horrified and fearful as she is over Nathan, she believes in being his wife. She wants to believe in being his wife. She begins to worry that being his wife will hurt her. She begins to believe that being his wife is a job Nathan no longer wants her to have.
Jessica Hawkins has created a sort of niche for herself, writing novels about infidelity. Her Cityscape series (Come Undone, Come Alive, Come Together) and Night Fever series take different looks at a woman's unfaithfulness. Slip of the Tongue goes in another direction, with a woman not purposefully or actively seeking to cheat but nonetheless feeling compelled to find in another man what she fears she has lost with her husband.
This is not always an easy or comfortable book to read. You feel Sadie's confusion and anger and sense of betrayal. You feel her attraction to Finn and her fears over what that means. You will want to shout at her to stop; you will want to reach into the book, grab her arm, and pull her away from the mistakes she seems intent on making. Even though Hawkins tells this story through Sadie's eyes, you learn about Nathan. He reveals himself and his own fears for his marriage, most of which Sadie is oblivious to. Nathan lets us see Sadie the Wife, and it is not always flattering. As she increasingly tries to convince herself that Nathan is wrong, she loses sight of her own complicity. She is so intent on justifying her behavior that she willfully ignores certain truths.
Of course, if Jessica Hawkins writes it, you can be sure that there are some scorching hot sexy times. There is one scene in a public area that is just so delicious, it will cause you to squeeze your thighs together so hard that you will cut off your blood supply.
I loved this book, even with the ulcer I thought it would give me, even with the discomfort Hawkins caused. It made me cry and it made me quiver.
Please read this one, and then hit up the comments and let me know your thoughts.

Absolutely hated Sadie, she was selfish and expected everyone's world ...
By melissa
Absolutely hated Sadie, she was selfish and expected everyone's world to revolve around her. Could not like her at all. Her husband ignored her and wouldn't speak to her, she thought he was having an affair and never asked him or confronted him about. What does she do she cheats on him with the neighbor then the husband finds out and he just takes her back, YEAH RIGHT. Seven years of marriage and they hit a rough patch of two months and she never pushes the issue of whats bothering him. My husband won't speak to me I am definitely going to find out what's going on. Not a good read
